An Introduction...

Welcome to my new blog, titled 'Paws for a Minute' which is itself a very clever play on words that I won't bother to explain.

This is me...

I am Scott Francisco Slocombe, aka The Filmdog. 'Paws for a Minute' will serve as a place away from the serious world of movie reviews where I can voice my thoughts on a number of subjects that I'm interested in, such as politics, sport, travel, music and cultural events.

I'll be opining my own style of social commentary, free from the constraints of 140 characters, where interesting views and amusing quips need not lose their impact through lack of space. Twitter is a wonderful tool but sometimes I want to say more without alienating friends and family through spamming of walls and timelines.

If you enjoy anything I write then please say so by way of comment. Conversely you're invited to pour scorn on anything you feel lacks merit or you just plain disagree with. Ultimately I'm just trying to improve my writing skills and the only way to do it is to do it.
